03 2.4 Climate control system problem - Godzknight
Hi. Everyone.

My car Honda Accord Executive 2.4 has Auto Climate Control System. the strange thing is that when I drove a car without A/C (I pressed OFF button) for an hour and when I opend a bonnet, I realized that some of pipes was freezed. it seems like AC was working.

Is FAN's working related to AC? coz beofre start engine the fan is always working (when climate control OFF). As soon as press the auto button then FAN stop working. I do not understand why the fan is working in cold weather for the first time before start engine.

Please help and advice me.

Thanks

On many cars if you have the airflow aimed at the windscreen (sometimes there's a specific "demist" setting) the a/c is automatically turned on (the a/c light, if there is one, may or may not illuminate). Could that be happening?

Not sure about the fan - my experience in other cars is that it's only on when the a/c is on (or when the enigine is too hot, obviously).

Thank you for the reply.

I do not know if my car has the airflow aimed at the windscreen but there is NOT any light on climate control system before I press the button. As you told, if the AC is automatically turn on then it should be light on as well but nothing come out.

I agree with your opinion that it is only on AC is on or when engine is too hot but this case is just the fan start working before start engine even in cold weather.

I really want to know what is main problem before I go to main dealer.

Thank you.

Not neccessarily - different car, but my daughter's Mitsubishi Colt turns the a/c on if the air is aimed at the windscreen, but the a/c light doesn't come on. We only realised it was turning the a/c on when condensation formed on the outside of the windscreen.
