2005 2.0d (136PS) stalling at 1000 - 1500 rpm - ICW
Hi,

I just bought mazda 6 05 reg and I think there is a problem with it. Not sure what can it be because it happens when it is warm outside. The symptoms are: between 1000 and 1500 rpm the car is stalling a little bit but when it is above or below those rpm it is fine. And the weird thing is as I motioned it happens when it is warmer. It is fine when I drive to work in the morning but when I come back them symptoms appear. I got appointment for computer diagnostics today not sure if it will show anything.

Thx

Have you been back to the supplying garage for them to take a look? How far out of warranty is it? Has someone sold it just before warranty was up?

Just got back from 'Fathers' (free website plug removed) service. It was 4th injectior 'back bleeding' or something. It has been replaced and costed me 500 pounds (labour + part). Going to test it for a week or so and see what happens.

Hi ICW,

Do you know how they diagnosed the faulty injector?

Did they have to take it out to do it, or was there a fault code registered in the ECU?

I think (and have been believing for 60.000 km) that my car has the same problem. However, the dealer is very reluctant to say that anything is wrong...

Hi,
I have just had my Mazda 6 2.0D Sport back from the garage. It's been off the road for two weeks having ground to a halt due to the diesel fuel injection pump failing. It was on this brilliant website that I discovered this was a comon fault with the Mazda 6 diesel. It starting showing problems apprx. 6 months ago by stalling at junctions and idling erratically both symptoms of a fuel injection pump problem. Two weeks ago in stalled and was unable to start again. Mileage is 76,000. Various other e-mail threads advised that new replacements were over £1,000 and a refurb around £650. I found some advice from a couple of owners that the problem lay with one of the valves inside the pump. I can confirm that this valve was purchased from a diesel motor factor and installed in the pump without removing it and the cost was £140 for the part. The car now runs like a dream again. So my advice is don't panic - there is a cheaper alternative as you don't need to replace the entire pump. Happy motoring!

hi dazboot,

i have a similar problem. i have a mazda 6 ts2 diesel estate 54plate. in a morning it cuts out everytime i drop the clutch to chainge gear until the car warms up. if i hold the revs on before i move to get the car warmed up then it hardely ever does it but its a nightmare. i have had the fuel filter changes so not htat injectors checked so not that. no faults on the computer have shown and no lights on dash. would you say that its the same fault. also could you send me any info and contacts to get this valve for the fuel injection pump please. i would be greatful. hope to hear from you.
