How much discount can be expected -nearly new - ajit
A friend of mine needs to retire her 316 compact 1995 which she has had from new. She want to buy a 325 or 330 convertible - preferably one year old from a BMW approved used. She wants to pay cash down. How much discount can she get? Her local N London dealer is not exactly bending back to make a sale?I suggested she looks a little outside London. Prices range from 25000-30000

Estimates and techniques would be appreciated.

BMW dealers are not immune from the present financial climate. When you say your friend wants to pay cash down do you mean she will not be trading in her old 316? Also how is she financing the new one or is she lucky enough to have the cash available?

There are loads on E93 CC's on the BMW Uk AUC finder --- do a national search and you will see.

If it was me I would drawer up a shortlist of say 6 cars and then start haggling hard. If your friend is paying cash with no trade in then she is in a very strong position to drive a good deal. As a starter I would be looking for min 10% off plus 12m FRL. That's just a starter though and if they say no I'd move on to the next dealer --- leaving my number should they decide to reconsider.

I bought my E46 'vert over 2 years ago ------- how I wish I was buying it in todays climate.
