when you disconnect the ect the ecu don't know what temp the engine is so it runs the fan as a default and the glowplugs to aid starting, however the glowplugs on this vehicle dont work untill the outside temp is approx -5 gegrees so dont expect to see the glowplug light very often do you have a problem starting what are the symptoms what have you done to rectify this problem

On removing multi-plug from glow plug control module, on the base of multi-plug there are seven terminals numbered 1-2-3-6-7-8-9

1 and 2 terminals feeds glow plugs,
No.3 terminal permanent battery voltage,
No.7 terminal ground/earth
No.6 and No.9 terminal to ECU,
No.8 ignition on feed 12.36 volts,

i think No.9 terminal there should be no voltage with ignition on
can anyone shed some light on this?

Wiring problem or ECU?

You've just described what you think is the problem. Firstly though, we need your symptoms.

What makes you think there's something wrong?
