Its is probalbly the switch that completes the circuit when you engage reverse, this would need be (if fitted to this type of car) checked, and replaced if neccasary.
On my Vauxhall the switch is locaced on the gearbox IIRC however it may be different for your make, a Haynes manual would tell you where it is.
