I'm removing the gearbox to change the clutch. there are two linkages that I have successfully (and easily) disconnected from their ball joints on the back of the gearbox. It was just a matter of pressing the top of the ball joint which allowed the joint to be released from the ball.
There is a third balljoint linkage that is of a different design that I have not been able to disconnect. Any helpful hints would be appreciated.

I've just looked at my Haynes manual and (assuming you're referring to the two large & one small balljoint connected to a cranked lever) it says simply prize off with a flat bladed screwdriver. Having looked at the picture in Haymes I would be inclined to use long nosed pliers and lever it upwards uniformally.
