Talking of useful info, didn't there used to be a clever tool that allowed you search for new cars by specifying things like "diesel" "three doors", "auto" "less than ten feet long", that kind of thing? It got pretty fine grained as I remember.

I can't remember what it was called so can't search for it. Or is it still there staring me in the face and everyone else uses it all the time?

Unless it wasn't on HJ at all, but I thought it was.

We used to have that called 'Motor Match' but the structure of it wasn't right.


You mean from a website management viewpoint? As a user I thought it was great.

I remember it being pretty nifty, but it presented the data as a sort of elongated spreadsheet thing so it looked a bit clunky. But I thought it was beta and would look pretty good when it was sorted.

Shame if it's back burnered, as so many questions here could be answered by it. It was fantastic for producing initial short lists of possible cars.
