I know a lot of backroomers also ride bikes.
Having just spent a wonderful afternoon out on my Sprint RS 955i I was wondering why they are mentioned so rarely these days. (Bikes in general, I mean)

They are all wrapped up and cosy for the winter.
To be fair I got out on my 1050 Sprint on Boxing Day. Clear and dry if a little cool.
The bike has just shown its disgust at its infrequent use by the alarm throwing a wobbler which means £140 for a new circuit board and a bit of a strip down to get to it :-(((

One of the only regrets of the last four years of my life and becoming a new father is the lack of motorcycling miles I've done. Thankfully, rather than sell it, I've hung on to my trusty ZZR600, and one of my new years resolutions was to get some miles under its wheels this summer.
Motorcycling provides a particular pleasure you just can't explain to people who haven't done it IMHO. A bit like parenthood in that respect.

I got out on the FJS600 on New Years Day, cold's not the word but I did test my Christmas neoprene gloves. Together with the hot grips and new wind deflectors I was quite cosy. Will get it out next week for MOT so might do a few miles afterwards, perhaps down to Delamere for a cuppa and a bun. Made up my mind to get the Velocette tested and legal this spring...no use having something you don't use.

Hmmm yes the last couple of summers have been pretty carp.
Rode back from Switzerland 1st Friday in September last year - 30 degrees when I left
but then 500 miles of the heaviest rain I have ever seen. It gets through everything, no matter how waterproof you thought it was. Got home at 10pm, put the heating on and shivered!

The Africa Twin is having some TLC at the moment, but still plodding on as well as ever, and the new carbs for the VFR are sat in Feltham Interlink depot waiting to be collected, do hope that sorts out a rich-running problem that was bugging me...
