Speed camera saves a life! - Ian (Cape Town)
Story from Cape Town...
This weekend saw some horrendous winds blowing - still howling outside, and hasn't stopped since Saturday.
Last night a huge tree was blown over onto the road, missing a motorist "by inches".
She had just braked, as there is a speed camera there, and she wanted to bring her speed down to 60km/h!

the fickle finger of fate !

i wonder how many times this sort of thing happens, and we are not even aware of it? Some years ago, returning from hols, with ex-swmbo, we stopped at a m-way service station. A short while after we resumed our journey we had to pick our way round an accident, as we passed the wreckage my ex said "look - thats those two girls who were just in front of us". If we hadn't stopped ......... ??

But has anyone done the calcs to see if her original speed was fast enough to avoid the tree? She might have been fast enough to see it fall in her rear view mirror?

And been so shocked and distracted by what she saw in her rear view mirror that she drove off the road and into a tree that hadnt blown over.

If she had been going fast enough for it fall behind her and had she not noticed it, would it had made a noise?
