07 2.0 changing RH side dipped headlamp bulb - Martynd
I have just had the RH dipped headlight fail on my Passat and as I was on the way to Halfords anyway I asked them to see about changing the bulb.
We could see where the bulb was but not how to get at it and so I left without it being changed.

Does anyone know how to get at the bulbs to change them? I'm due a service next week so could wait until then but would prefer to know anyway.

TIA
Martyn

Is it not in the handbook? On the previous model Passat you had to remove some of the plastic trim (might have been some air filter related stuff) to get at that light. I had the VW dealer to do it - for free.

If only it was that simple....
The handbook states (and I don't have it here so will paraphrase); that there may be sharp objects or you may have to dismantle other equipment and so the car should be taken to a registered dealer or other qualified mechanic...

If you mean O/S then the air cling housing the the iar duct have to come out. If N/S then then the sterring fluid header tank has to be emptied and removed. You can manage it if you just tis it back or have a spare set of hands. Regards Peter
