Mazda MX5 (1989 - 1998) - 1991 1.6 eunos window cable snapped

1991 1.6 eunos window cable snapped - carnut1980
how do i remove the old cable on an mx5 eunos, mk1? it seems to be pressed into a small bit of threaded black plastic within the door, but it doesnt turn? help! as the electric window will go down but not up! i have removed the door card and unbolted the motor, but cant get more access!

The complete window regulator mechanism and motor needs to be removed from the door before any repairs to it are carried out.Iirc Mazda do a repair kit which consists of new cables and a plastic spool/cable drum.hth

same thing happend to my mx, got a full motor and cables from ebay for £45 took about an hour to fit . was told that it was a lot easier than changing the cables.
