04 1.6 strange clutch problem - rob_talks
Hi, have recently acquired an odd problem with my 04 Astra. The bite point seems way too high. For instance, the car is biting just as I am to lift my foot from the pedal. Grip is fine, not slipping at all, as far as I can tell. Called VX, they told me to check brake fluid as its shared with clutch. Checked, its fine. What could this be?

My car does suffer from the clutch judder, but only very slightly some mornings. This seems to be a separate sort of problem as it does it all the time.

Any ideas?

Rob

Regarding the clutch judder, Vauxhall have changed the lining material it's made from. Not sure how far back they're offering replacements - you'll need to ask them.

See www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=38296 for more info.

EDIT - just seen mention that only being changed under the 3 yr / 60,000 mile warranty period.
