The seat belts on my sound but aged (13 years) MX5 are very faded by the sun. Although there has been no mention of any problem at MOT time, do seat belts deteriorate through age or UV action? They are not frayed or worn anywhere.
Should I replace them for my own peace of mind or am I worrying over nothing?

My 18 year old ones are faded as well where they come over the loop at shoulder height. Too much top down I guess. Never raised an eyebrow at MOT time though.
