Tackle anything roadside mechanic in India transforms an accident-damaged Hindustan into the car of his dreams, the latest Peugeot. Result appears very iffy, but mechanic and companions cruise around looking ultra chic.

Works on so many levels (candidate for Psudes Corner)

BRILLLIANT !!!!
Peugeot ad - The Watcher
It is a good advert! Thought they still made those cars based on old Austin \ Morris design?
Peugeot ad - Phil I
Yes I too agree that its one of the better commercials on at the present time but not I would say quite the excellence of the Jasper Carrot version of 'Take my breath away' a few years ago.

Happy Motoring Phil I

Not only does he completely reshape the body, he also seems to change it from right-hand to left-hand drive.

Maybe the elephant was also handy with a spanner.
Peugeot ad - J Bonington Jagworth
Well spotted! Hollywood producers often make the same mistake when they use Australian locations. I like the Peugeot ad, too, although I did wonder how he reshaped the glass...
Peugeot ad - Pugugly {P}
The almost fanatically Anglophile producers of The Simpsons always get it right - even when they had a storyline in Kenya, the 4wd was a Defender with the steering wheel on the correct side....

Maybe this ad is for Europe-wide distribution?

As mentioned by Charlie Catchpole in the Star this morning, "That's some makeover for the car in the Peugeot 206 ad. Before the driver crashes it into the wall, it's a RH drive model. Afterwards, it becomes LH drive."
Peugeot ad - Paul Robinson
Am I the only one that gets bugged by manufactures who use LH drive cars in their adverts? The two that come to mind straightaway (there are others) are Toyota with the ad for the new Avensis and Saab's advert for the new 9-3. It makes me feel like they can't be bothered to make the effort for the UK market!

Toyota took it a stage further for the Mk I Avensis. Rear-Hand drive..... to the melodic output of a certain Mr Z Pop esq.

There was the Claudia Shiffer Xsara advert that if filmed in left Hard drive and the the image is mirrored to make the car right hand drive.

I think they did the same under the bonnet of my car!!

And doesn't it just put into perspective how expert Peugeot are in the advertising game, compared to say, Vauxhall who gave us Griff Rhys Jones in his underpants and now a pathetic gaggle of Corsas playing hide 'n seek? No wonder Vauxhall are up the creek!

I know what you mean. I have to put my hand up to liking the Astra ad (rollercoaster) but at the back of my mind there's a little voice saying "but it's a god-awful vauxhall!"

Have you seen how the new one is gonna look? Was pictured in last Friday's Sun.

Good grief! It's actually gorgeous! No, let me rephrase that. I would sell my mother to have one in my driveway. Please tell me that there will be a "delete vauxhall badge" option....
Peugeot ad - DavidHM
Perhaps there'll be a 'delete Vauxhall quality' option as well.

It is gorgeous, but perhaps it would also mark a good time to put the marque, and the dealer service, out to pasture and start selling as an Opel to proper standards with a reassessment à la Mercedes.

I'm not sure what Vauxhall are trying to say with some bits of the Corsa ad - the one submerged in the sea and the one in the skip - the best place for them?

Actually you're right, it's probably one of their better ones! But the ad with GRJ in his underpants used to make me literally cringe.

Is "Vauxhall bashing" about to be accorded Olympic status by any chance? Sorry guys, I have become quite attached to my old style Vectra 2.00 CDX Estate in spite of a few probs with dodgy sensors. It's practical, economical and IMHO handles OK and it eats M-way miles with total aplomb. I can't ask for much more for the money I paid. However, totally agree about the adverts, although the Jag effort - "Just follow in it's tracks." - makes me want to puke too.

Nice to see someone sticking up for good old Vauxhall, Ken ;)

Yes indeed. Lets give Ford a bashing now shall we? Whatever were the designers smoking when they gave birth to the Scorpio?

If I had the Tech know-how I would leap in there DD - however...I'm sorry, what more can I say? ;)

Now, IIRC smoking that stuff dilates your pupils, nothing else. So giving birth to a scorpio would be punishment enough, under the circumstances.

I remember the Ford prelaunch drive day up at the NEC when they also allowed the dealers to thrash the new wide-mouth escort. We all sat there that evening shaking our heads and wondering if we could get a Nissan franchise.

Wasn't the punchline at the end "Fun if you like that kind of thing"
