A few weeks back the response times of the HJ site was poor.
It got better but it seems the advertising is acting up or my PC has slowed down.

Me too - it's the ad servers in particular "intellitxt" tonight.

Lightning fast for me as usual with Firefox 3.0.4 - perhaps there are a lot of other BB users around at the moment in your ISP's area, which will affect the contention ratio?
Mind you, I'm with TalkTalk and it's having to up its LLU capacity yet again at my exchange.

I use IE7 and had the pop up blocker set to Medium. Ive not set it to High and it blocks those annoying Dell adverts that pop up.
I had 26 adverts on my task bar about 5 mins ago - i had only been using HJ for about 10 minutes. It was a joke. i DONT want a DELL PC!!
