BMW 5-Series E39 (1996 - 2003) - 2000 2.8 Multi cd player

2000 2.8 Multi cd player - logix_e39
Does anybody out there know of a 'fix' to allow the BMW cd player to play a selection of songs cd compiled from my pc please?
The unit only seems to play official pre-recorded albums.

you are creating an "audio cd" and not saving them as MP3? your player wont play MP3

do they play on any other regular cd player?

Maybe - but some car cd players do only play 'official' discs and not cdr.

I know that my f-i-l's Saab will not play cdr discs that are fine in my car or in standard cd players.

I have a half man half biscuit album (genuine/official) which seems to be a small production run and looks more like a home done disc - that wont play in all car players although its fine in real cd players.

usually because they have been "overburned" - too much music crammed on making it longer than a normal commercial cd.

I never overburn audio cds and use good quality cdr media (philips or sony mostly) and burn it at a slow speed.

True, but not the case here. Direct copies of proper CDs dont work (Not everyone likes to have their good cds floating around in the car). He told me he had taken it up with Saab and been told it was a feature of the car.
