IMO, better to donate your scrap car to the local fire brigade to rehearse cutting out the cab to rescue injured passengers.

Time for good incentives to use the stuff (and recycled materials in general). I suspect that these (or the reverse, a big stick) will be implemented before too long.

IMO better to donate your scrap car to the local fire brigade to rehearse cutting

The trouble is, they have to jump through hoops with paperwork and procedure.

IIRC In some area's they get round some of the paperwork by buying the scrap car off you for a tolken amount, £5 to £10, of course many will use the money to make a cash donation to some firebrigade charity.

Give it away - use recycle.com. Just advertised a ZX and got about 8 requests for it ranging from 'I want its bits' to 'We have no money and are desperate'. It was good to find it a home where it will be used while it has some life left in it.

A couple of weeks ago, we were offered between £120 and £140 (scrap) for a P reg Corsa in Suffolk. We accepted the £130 as it was significantly closer to our abode.
