e.g. Most modest State Car = Romania. / Wackiest = Malaysia / Most Johnny-come-lately State Cars = New Zealand government / Most heroic = de Gaulle's DS.

State Car - Steptoe
Last month the Princess Royal visited Fakenham racecourse on an official visit.

She had a fairly minor motocade from her helicopter to the grandstand, two top of the range black Discos plus a liveried police car, but I was amused to see that the driver of this vehicle was a 'proper' policeman, wearing a shirt, tie, and the original tunic uniform with no body armour, trucheons, or any other dangly accouctrements.

He still looked very competent and with it, though, I had no problem with giving up my parking space to him ;-)

State Car - jc2
I was in the Czech republic last year and the president went by me;I was about two feet away from him as the car stopped in front of me to let people pass in front of it(in the palace grounds);no police,no outriders-just him in the back of a Skoda.
