Got an Mreg xantia. Front suspension knocks going over bumps, both sides. Done the antiroll bar link arms and checked the inner bushes which seem ok. Begining to think it is the top suspension mounts. Has anyone ever changed these? Looks as though you could just jack up the car and then undo the ram and pull out these mounts once the spheres are off and pipes disconnected. Would be grateful for any advice.

Have you checked the track rod ends? Most of the suspension bushes are under permament load so don't rattle unless you take the weight off them. The only things that arn't are the drop links ad track rod ends.

Hello, Sorry I should have said it had an mot about 4 weeks ago and they were pretty thorough. I will check them but the knocking happens when you judge that the weight
has come off the strutt, after going up if you see what I mean.
