98 1.2 rear radius arm failure - argybargy
My son's Mk 1 Punto SX 85 today failed its MOT..amongst the items which came up were "excessive play in pin/bush" for both offside and nearside rear radius arms.
I wouldnt know a radius arm if someone hit me over the head with one, and my Haynes gives no clues, talking only about trailing arms--is this the same thing?
Any info as to what might be involved to sort this would be appreciated. Is it feasibly a DIY job? Are we talking replacement of the arms, or can this be sorted by a bush replacement? I really am in the dark.
Cheers in advance.

Remove the back wheel - the suspension arm that attaches the wheel/hub to the car body is the radius arm.
Its a fairly big heavy lump of metal - pretty easy to change though.
Kits were available for the bearing that wears but the arms are cheap - approx £40/side - just change the whole arm.
If the bearing bolt isn't seized - its a pretty easy job.
