Morning all,
I've just had my girlfriend's daughter on the phone in tears and some scrote thought that it'd be a giggle to smash her windscreen. So, while she rang the police etc I rang around for quotes for a replacement in case her insurance didn't cover it. Auto Windscreens quoted me £167 fitted, while Autoglass quoted £407. I cannot believe the difference in price here. OK, Autoglass will reduce it to £280 as she's in the AA but even so. That's not steep, it's blooming vertical! Why would there be such a price differential?
Cheers.

It might depend on whether it's a genuine replacement or a pattern part. From past experience of pattern part screens I would suggest you try to get a genuine replacement. I think most insurers will cover the cost (apart from possibly £50 excess) without affecting your NCD.
