Hi,
I've been thinking about selling my car recently. But it depends on the outcome of a situation. However, if I do sell it I'd like to do it quickly.
I've noticed a few sites advertising, including one on TV now. Has anyone got any advice or recommendations?

What kind of car? Have you thought of Ebay?

If priority is a quick guaranteed sale, then.....
option one = e-bay, no reserve
option two, dealer - "what will you give me for this,,, ?"
option three, auction - ( or "sure sell" ), no reserve, and pay the fees.
best of these depends very much on what make-model-spec, etc.
( assuming no part-ex of course...)
remember, your car is probably the most expensive thing in your life, after - house /wife-hubby/ kids, and should be dealt with accordingly (IMHO anyway), - you have obviously got internet, access, so spend a few minutes checking how to get best price, by maximising your asset, ( tax - mot - valet, etc. ) this website is a good place to start ( no connection )
P.S. how funny was that lift scene ? how many takes was it ?

Always had success on auto trader. Very easy to use, do it all on the net and make adjustment to your wording/price at any time. It should be obvious, but if the price is realistic and the car desirable, then it'll sell. My last sale was a Peugeot 306 Diesel which I could have sold many times over, same with and Audi A4 before that. I've had less than satisfactory experiences with Ebay, as have others I know.

I went down the dealer route when I was selling my 535 - too expensive to sell safely privately, ditto e-bay. Got a very good price (slightly above my target) when I sold it to the dealer. It was the right spec in the right colour (whoever decides these things are right ???) and I got Banker's draft in my sweaty palm (didn't stay there long Mrs P had her tool kit already out !)

As far as I know you haven't come clean about why you went upmarket to the Roomster PU, although you said you would when the pain had subsided. You were so mysterious about it at the time that I thought you might have stuffed the Beemer up the scenery, selected first and reverse simultaneously and let the clutch in at 6,000 rpm or melted the engine in a careless moment.
Of course I am glad for you that the outcome was so boringly respectable, but I must confess to a tiny flicker of disappointment.

Wherever you sell it, as PU says, its setting the right price that will get rid of it the quickest - be reaslistic!
My last one went on the first day on Autotrader btw!
