02 2.0tddi smokes on start up - colin1974
Hi, igot a 2.0 tddi 02 plate mondeo 160k on the clock, runs fine doesen't use a drop of oil but on start up when cold smokes like hell for a couple of mins, been told this seems more than EGR valve although not checked that, any other ideas, car drives perfect otherwise, thanks colin.

Getting the glow-plugs checked would be a good place to start - and do a compression test at the same time - if the equipment is available.

i checked glow plugs, replaced injectors, no change. now bein told timing chain could be worn causin retarded ignition, not too sure about this one think garage is screwin me, any further advise would be appreciated, cheers colin

not sure i'll check tommorrow, they told me injectors were done for, one fell to bits which i find hard to beleive as car ran fine, cheers
