Volkspeed car sales - hot-diga-dee
Hi,

I've seen a car for sale that I like at Volkspeed car sales in Ashtead, Surrey.

Has anyone had any experiences of these good or bad? They are quite a long way away from me so before I make a 270 mile round trip I want to be sure they are a reputable company. I've googled them but nothing came up either way.

Thanks,

Pete.

Sorry I cannot help though.

I've googled as well, out of curiosity! Looks like a genuine company and can't see any negatives. Given the quality of the cars for sale, I would be willing to go - after some initial investigation (FSH, previous owners -ring them, you might get a 'feel' from this. Go with a prepared list of questions and, prepared to do a deal on the day. If they know you are travelling 270 miles (round trip) they SHOULD be prepared for you. If they aren't, or you don't fancy the car ultimately, it will be a wasted journey but better than spend and repent. Good luck.

I live nearby, hv worked in the area for 46 years - for what it's worth, Volkspeed is long established and I've never hard of any nasties .. but appreciate that can never be taken as an endorsement. And must point out, I have no connection with 'em!

I have purchased a car from these guys and strongly discourage anyone from doing the same. The cars are severly over priced and when I had issues with the car and it was found to be faulty they didn't want to know.

No customer service at all.

I will never use these cowboys again and have told everyone I know not to either!!

Well, if it was overpriced, why did you buy it?

The post isn't really in the spirit of the forum.

Since when has this forum (or any other) had a "no name no shame policy"?

Surely that' s the point of a forum - sharing information regardless of whether it is good or bad.

This forum has (as far as I'm aware) always operated such a policy. They can't afford the potential liability for libel.

I bought a 5 year old Saab here in 2002. It proved to be utterly reliable over the next 7 years to about 150,000 miles until I bought a new car for my wife (somewhere else) as a treat for my wife (which has cost more to maintain than the Saab ever did, every year)

I bought a 3 year old BMW 5 series from them in 2005. Again it has been utterly faultless over the 230,000 miles that I've added since. I know it cannot last forever and I always keep an eye on the Volkspeed site ready for the moment I need to buy a replacement.

They may not be the cheapest but I cannot fault the quality of their cars and at the end of the day it's better to spend a little more up front and a lot less.
I have a friend who has a similar experience after buying on my recommendation.
