I am trying to find the bhp output for a 1.6 CL Polo 5 door hatch it is a 1998/R and engine no is : AEE180508. This is for insurance, I think there is both a 75 and 100 bhp version. Any help appreciated.

All the 1.6's listed on the Parkers website are 75 bhp.
The only engine that was 100bhp was the 1.4 16v.

Thanks for that. The hand book does indeed confirm what you say, and only lists the 1.4 at 100 brake. An element of doubt was put in my mind when the insurance company wanted the exact bhp.

No doubt; the AEE engine is listed in all sources as 55kw/75bhp. The 1.6 16-valve unit is 125bhp.
The only 100hp Polo units are some 1.4 16-valve [AFH/AFK etc.] and they will mostly have died of piston failure by now.
