03 2l unblock diesel filter - cabbie_mick
hi , we have a pegeout 307 hdi turbo 110 on the 03 plate, every now and again the unblock diesel filter light comes on , then on the dash the orange light comes on , it stays on for only a little while , we have had the fuel filters changed , the drain plug cleaned, the link to the computer reset lasted about a week but came on again last night only for about a min or 2 , we have read the book and it says it could be because of town driving and to try to build up a constent speed of 35 and above for 5 mins , have you any ideas what could be causing this thanks cabbie_mick.....

There's loads about this in the archive; it's the DPF in the exhaust blocking and it's not good news.

hi made some inquiries , do you think its best to have it diagnosed , the general feeling is it could be the particlate filter, do you also think what it says in the book could work , drive it for a min of 5 mins at at least 35 miles per hour to see if it clears the fault , it only comes on sometimes and not very often thanks mick......

What's the mileage and has the additive tank ever been topped up or the DPF [FAP in French] ever been replaced?

What is it's normal use and does it ever do runs at over 50 mph for a constant 5 minutes?

Hi, I'm new to the forum but there seems to be good advice on here.
I too have got a Peueot 307 / 2Ltr 110 diesel HDI on an 03 plate (49000 miles).
Been having the same problem with anti pollution fault and then 'Unblock diesel filter'. Car became very sluggish and in the end I have had to have a new particluate filter fitted and the fuel additive re-filled.

After this has been done the light has again come on a couple of times but not stayed on, no affect on performance though and no error code can be found on the diagnostics machine.

Any ideas?

If the system was full serviced with new FAP, fill and counter reset; then you shouldn't get the "unblock diesel filter" message again unless your usage is not suited to regenerations.

It's possible that the FAP pressure sensor didn't like the blocked FAP and it's now getting temperamental.... Many places change those as a matter of course.
