SWMBO'S daughter's Peugeot 306 HDi is SORNed, being kept on her mother's drive. It gets started up every few weeks and recently we noticed the aircon is not working.

We feel we ought to get it looked at to see if a simple re-gassing will solve the problem, but obviously the car can't be taken anywhere.

Can anyone recommend a mobile aircon specialist in the Peterborough/Oundle area? Many thanks for your help.

Since it's a 306 odds on that the pipe across the bottom of the radiator has corroded away at the mounts. Once this is replaced, the condenser will almost certainly go bang soon after (if it hasn't already). If it's been off some time then system likely to be contaminated. Quite possibly cost more than the car to get it working well again.....

Yes, that had occurred to me. If it's more than a simple job it's definitely not worth doing. However, a cursory inspection suggests the bottom pipe you mention may be OK.

However, another relevant factor is that about 18 months ago the car was involved in a collision that resulted in extensive repairs to the front (new radiator etc.) and I don't know how thoroughly the job was done. I'm sure the air con must have been affected. That would account for the bottom pipe and mounts looking good.
