Yes, it was funny, although the Clarksons were of variable quality. But the sketch I really liked was the one of the boozy, chainsmoking uncle trying to con three little girls out of a drink, producing his own flask when they turned out only to have lemonade, and then getting down to conning them out of their pocket money. I won't tell you who it reminded me of, but I bet my wife would.

The bits I've seen of the last series and this one I've not found all that funny - taped the first episode but de-series linked it when I watched it.
Clarkson Island was funny though, best bit was the last line about what happens to all the remaining Clarksons.

Parts of it were amusing, but it has been done before: Monty Python did a sketch with an island full of Alan Wickers.

I think the reference to Wicker Island at the beginning of the clip was a clue that it was "an homage"

All I could see was a load of look-a-like drops outs from the Scousers sketch or was that just me?!
As said, probably 'adapted' from the Pythons...
I have never found this brand of comedy that funny though.
I am more of your 'Laurel & Hardy' et al slaptick humour based a lot more talented and gifted.

The best 'catch' I had with this was behind an eldery cyclist in Hull - he was peddling to the beat, so I wound the window down when we stopped at the traffic light on Spring Bank. As he set off I set the CD going on this track - and to the 'beat' of his peddling.
At first he did not see the funny side, but then you could see him, slowly starting to sit bolt upright, swaggering (elderly Gentlemen) and peddling away, smirking and chuckling to himself as he went happily on his way!
I wonder what childhood memories I brought back for him that day?
Also have the theme to Dads Army too - use that on Veteren Days. Boy does that get some of the old boys biting at the bit!

That sketch started off pretty funny, but they dragged it out for far too long and killed it completely.
I think it was when they called the MX-5 a girl's car that I started to get a bit irritated. I own one!
