hi can anyone tell me if i can take the engine out of and xr4i sierra 1985 and put a sierra cosworth engine in can it be done

It's been done; but don't overlook the complication of swapping all the engine management over - or the cost of insurance.
Good XR4i's [they're 2.8] are collectable and valuable - a bitza isn't. Give that some thought.

2nd that one. Bitza worth couple hundred quid if you can find a mug to buy one. XR41 nice motor in their day.
