Local Vaux garage says it's not officially launched to the buying public until Oct/Nov.

Amazing that a car that is so big can have poor rear accommodation. Still, so long as it looks good ;-)

Sat in an Elite auto saloon on display at M way services. Got to say it looks great, but I think it'll be difficult to judge car's extremities when parking. Quality seems a step up for GM, but noted the following concerns;

Rear view very limited due to shape of cabin - roof lining swoops down, and sides of cabin narrow the rear glass area.

Bigger door pockets but still not enough storage round the driver, and lots of buttons still set up for left hand drive - also gate indicators on auto shift set up for left hand drive. Huge boot but only a money saver spare wheel, this time with very shallow spare wheel well so you can't buy a full size spare and store it without compromising space.

I don't think you should be complaining about that. At least you get something. I was very surprised at the apparent trend I saw at the motor show in London for more and more cars not having a spare wheel at all - not even a space saver. Supposedly it's a weight (and therefore CO2) saving exercise. To compensate, when you buy the car new, you get free roadside assistance. No use second hand though...

I thought that was obligatory these days - a bit like the absence of a proper spare tyre.

If Andrew English in the Telegraph has a good word for a Vauxhall it must be a fantastic car! www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/3128744/Vauxhall-Insi...l

I wonder if the glue that sticks the rear view mirror on is any stronger this time around.

Nice looking car though. Headlights look a bit C-Classish. (A good thing).

I dunno what you've been doing with your Vectra Adam, but in all the years I and other members of the family have owned Vauxhalls, the rear view mirror has never detached itself from the windscreen.

Same here, and that's with a toddler hanging off of ours frequently!!

It's got a dreadful name. My Granny used to buy me gift packs of Insignia bath products for Christmas in the 80s.

Insignia's got everything, shampoo to shower gel, deodorant and aftershave for one all over smell...........New Insignia, and it's all over now.............

Also sounds like that cruddy made up name they bestowed upon the Post Office some years back, only to withdraw it sharpish.

I agree with Alanovich, Insignia is a horrible name. It doesn't roll off the tongue like Golf, Focus, Civic, or even Viva.

Then there's the name Vauxhall, it always reminds me of rust. They would be better off calling it an Opel.

We've had two and it's happened on both of them (a Cav and a Nova). No other car has done this.

No big deal -- a good dose of Araldite sorts it.
