I picked up my new Mazda 2 TS2 last week and remember thinking at the time it did not have a TS2 badge on the back. In all honesty this does not bother me in the slightest and I thought Mazda had probably done away with this for the latest models. However, I saw my first 58 Mazda 2 other than mine today and it had a TS2 badge on the back. Anyone know why the difference?

These are fitted at the dealer at PDI. My dads one didn't have it on delivery, but when mentioned the dealer disappeared out the back and found one. So if you feel the need for one just ask your dealer and they should stick one on for you.

Thanks for the reply, that explains it.

Probably worth getting the stupid badge stuck on, or when you come to p/ex the dealer will accuse you of undeclared accident damage and repair.

Ugly, cheap little badges, I'd leave them off.

The cognoscenti will know the trim level from the wheels.

I have been having a look at a model specific forum since I bought a pertinent car. There are people on there, who seem to be otherwise normal adults, who buy "Irmscher" ( some kind of tuning company ) badges and stick them on their otherwise standard cars. In fact there are threads discussing at great length the most desirable place to stick them and how good they look.

I have, thus far, resisted the temptation to offer any advice on where they should stick them.

I rather dislike any kind of badges on cars, they collect dirt. Wouldn't be bothered to remove them though. Although I always, and goodness knows why but I can't help it, remove any supplying dealers stickers or tax disc holders with overt advertising from my cars.

I wondered exactly the same thing.. Mine doesn't have the TS2 badge either so I've written it on in the dust that's built up there in the first two weeks of ownership.
A lot of the cars didn't have the badge on at the showroom I went to.

I'd agree you're better off without it. When I ordered my Volvo, I was given the option - which I took - of having it without a badge to show what engine it has, so the complement of badges on the boot is a modest two.

The Volvo was recently joined by a Toyota Verso, and someone evidently had built up some credit at the signwriters. In various places, and in various typefaces, the tailgate has a Toyota emblem badge, the words Toyota, Corolla and Verso, the model code T3 and the engine code D4-D, making a total of six badges of which only the emblem would be missed if it weren't there. Just as well it's not an automatic or there'd probably be a badge for that too.

The "flare" badge on the rear of my Almera was obviously put there without the aid of a spirit level.

I too had the TS2 badge missing, but found it at the bottom of the glove box.
I'ts self adhesive and as long as you line it up and measure the same height as the Mazda 2 badge easily fitted.

I'll have to go and check that in mine now... Doubt it's there as I've had the car 5 weeks and not seen it but it won't be the first time I've missed something obvious. A passenger pointed out that the thing in the cup holder was an ash tray the other day, something I'd completely missed!
