Just about to take the big blue brush and hot washing up liquid to the motor?

"My journey started when the vxr brand manager asked me to Vauxhall HQ to view the new Limited Editon model and to view my thoughts..." (sic).

Mind-reading? Clever stuff.

Dont get much for £21k, do you? A VXR with some decals, posh seats, exhaust, and a nice paint job, and a tenuous link to a German race circuit.

Crikey.

There are three mucky motors outside right now. Unfortunately, it is dry, pleasantly warm and sunny. So no excuse. We live on what builders call an "executive" housing development in deepest small town suburbia. Car washing is what passes for excitement round here.

Already I can see the tell tale hosereels being unfurled next to the ubiquitous 3 series and A4 diesels. The 4x4s are all missing as the mummys have nipped to Waitrose or taken Tabitha to ballet or Jonathon to cricket.

Time, I fear to join the throng of car washers and try to avoid being bored rigid by some bloke who be keen to discuss house prices and who will be patronising about my new Vauxhall ! At least it's paid for unlike his Deutschereppenbox SC. (Social Climber )

Still, should be able to splash him and his car a bit while making it look accidental !

That slowed my laptop down to near stalling, did anyone happen to read if he's driven it yet?

Interesting Dox. Crashed my PC. Only just recovered it. No apparent damage but recommend caution before trying to open this stuff.

Broadband must still be steam powered in Nantwich eh ;o)

You local too ?

This rare sunshine is too good to waste washing cars! The dirt can stay a bit longer. I'm sure there will be more suitable days for washing cars in the next year or two.

I might ask him to have a look at my Mazda.

Pretty much neighbours. I'm just off Welsh Row near Millfields School. Avoiding Crewe today due to carnival traffic. Keep almost starting to wash the cars and keep allowing myself to be distracted by this ! Must wash. ( cars that is )

Pretty much ground my PC to a holt, even though its only 2 weeks old and on super fast broadband, too many pictures, too much detail.

What a plonker!

That detailer's file jammed up the Firefox on my low-rent, but usually perfectly adequate, desktop PC, and the guy was still claying it. Hadn't even started on the insides of the suspension bushes and profiling the oilways in the camshaft, conrods etc... Judging by the position of the tab on the right of the screen, and its minute size, we were about 0.2% into a 10-gigabyte file.

The guy didn't look very happy in the shots. He was worrying, quite rightly in my opinion, about all the short cuts and sleazy expedients he had already taken.

A pretty slapdash effort all round.

As for pinheads of orange bee excrement at the Nurburgring, fast motors used to be made of hand-beaten aluminium and bore honourable, and elegant, stone dents in their noses from say the Mille Miglia...

Struth. I thought I was bad washing mine once a week. Bet he's a hit with the ladies. Still, whatever floats his boat.

I'd love to pull up in the next bay at Tesco, especially if he was sitting in it. Depending how evil you felt, you could give him a heart attack as you opened the door.

I only wash my car now when it rains as since moving house I now have a water meter - I do miss my unlimited water supply for £126 a "Year"

Photobucket packed up at brake calipers and I am on Quad core and top Graphics card with 6.2mb connection.

Robin you are not suggesting for a minute that he would take it out the garage never mind into a Tesco car park!

Oh good grief! That's sad. And there was me feeling pleased 'cos the wheels a came up a treat yesterday with a spot of Wonder Wheels.

Was he serious in his muse about rejecting the car as it had a paint blob of a bout 1/2 mm width on the roof ?
Your car awaits its weekend wash - madf
No problems here with IE7 and 10MB broadband.

Spending that time taking photos and posting them and it's only a carp Vauxhall which will be worthless in 10 years time.
Some people need to get a life..

Meanwhile I washed the car and the house windows (5 metre ladder job) and cut half an acre of grass today. Nutter would have applied one wax layer in that time...

When he kerbs the alloys it will hurt... and he WILL kerb them...

I would guess he's a professional detailer. How much would it cost to do the painstaking job he done, just on the paintwork alone. I know this sort of effort is done on top end motors for people that can afford it and motor shows, but does anyone know the kind of numbers this would entail?

"Was he serious in his muse about rejecting the car as it had a paint blob of a bout 1/2 mm width on the roof ? "

It seemed so to me, PU.

Meanwhile, hot water, washing up liquid and the blue Halfords `yard brush` did a great job on the vans white paint.

Then I went underneath with a dollop of grease on a finger and...

I thought it was quite interesting in a sad sort of way until he starting worrying about the green marker pen on the hidden floor pan paint, but then proceeded to line the floor with hideous looking turkey foil soundproofing. When I had need to once take up my Cavalier's rear carpet I found loose nuts, bolts, washers, trim clips all tossed under the carpet as it went down the production lline and not retrieved. Free spares I suppose.

Ritalin would have been cheaper.....

My previous 24 cars were only washed once, professionally and just prior to selling. I see no reason to wash the present one prematurely. In any case, washing-up liquid is said to dry in streaks and may contain a bleach.

Ritalin damages the lacquer.

I'm picking my new car up at the end of the month, better take my micrometer along to make sure the paintwork is the correct thickness....

But seriously, will he ever dare to use it? Every 10 minute drive will be followed by a six hour bodywork check to make sure there are no stone chips/dead flies/minute scratches on the car.

He even used bottled water to wash it. Life is to short to worry about the odd imperfection on a cars bodywork.
Your car awaits its weekend wash - corblimeyguvnar
It wasnt just any old bottled water he used, it was reverse osmosis water!!!!
The mind boggles.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder rather than needing Ritalin - would be jumping all over it if he ADHD.
I get my car washed and vacuumed occasionally by a car-obsessed autistic lad - his present of choice last Christmas was a car cleaning kit and bucket! Unlike this chap he does not mind missing the odd bit and would not dream of going over the same area twice to clean missed bits. He had a theory that clean cars would have clean engines too - very surprised to find my engine spotless despite the (to him) mucky interior.

This is hilarious, though one or two bits might offend.

whilst outrageously funny - as you say it may offend so link made unclickable
