2000 Unidentified beeping noise - Gary1
Recently my 2000 vauxhall vectra has been making a beeping noise (no it's not my mobile phone-i already checked) intermittantly. At first i thought perhaps my tyres were low as my husbands citroen sometimes making a warning noise like that when a corner is taken too tighly. I have now checked my tyres but every now again the car still makes a 'beep' or two. The haynes manual does not mention this problem. I have had this car for just over a year now and it is only in the past week this noise has been heard. Any idea's?

Does it do it when you remove the key from the ignition/turn off the engine? And has it got a factory fit alarm? Finally, it is something like 3 or 4 beeps?

If so, then the backup batteries within the power sounder are on their way out. Unless you replace the power sounder shortly, you will soon start to have the alarm going off at random intervals. It *is* possible to change the batteries that are inside the unit, but sourcing them is now becoming as rare as hens teeth.
