you'l get loads of differant answers on this one
if you like the super resin why not chose to top it with their extra gloss protection , a couple of layers will make it last much better
or top if off with some collinite wax

I bought a bottle of 'Rally Easy Shine' made by a 'Johnson family company' a couple of weeks ago, in a cheapie shop in France, 400ml for 2.5 euros. It must be widely available because the instructions are in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, a number of unidentifiable Eastern European-looking languages and Greek.
It's only wipe-on/wipe-off stuff but the results are the best I have had for years.
Normally I use spray-on stuff from the Leclerc supermarket called Express Polish which looks like it's also packaged for Halfords and other brands because the plastic bottles and labels are almost identical.
What I am trying to say is, in my opinion - based on decades of polishing with various products, backed by doctorchris-type elbow grease - you don't have to spend an arm and a leg on premium products widely advertised in the specialist press.
When I see the prices of some of the stuff now advertised in the classic car magazines I fall about with laughing. Eighty or a hundred quid a tin? Who are they trying to kid?

Mer is easy to apply and remove. Can be applied when the car is wet, it dries to a powder which is wiped off easily. Can be used on windows (not windscreen) too.

My son keeps his car really clean - similar job with his wife's.
1 x per year, claybar car, polish and wax - 4 hours per car.
Normally the weekly wash is 45 mins per car so the 4 hrs may be very generous.
The claybar makes a huge difference as it cleans off all the old polish and muck and you start with a very smooth paint surface. Claybar for 2 cars costs about £25 for the kit.

Ok my experience. Before the TiPEC 2008 show weekend I washed the Pork & then used AG Paint renovator all over, then used AG Super resin on it & it looked fantastic, went around a friends house who openly admits he is a bit anal about cleaning. He asked if I minded him trying Meguiars Gold Class on it. Definitely not! Off he went & within 10 minutes it looked much shinier & with a very much deeper gloss.
Like others I've used AG for years, I'm now a Meguiars convert.

When I was looking at the hand polishing thread on Detailing World the Super Resin polish came out as by far and away the winner, in my experience it's one of the better polishes. I've tried Meg's Gold Class Wax and whilst it's good, it doesn't last like Super Resin.
If you work the Super Resin hard and then top it off with Extra Gloss Protection you really won't need to polish it for another year, I found it provided excellent protection on the last car that I applied it to.

Sounds like I'm sticking with Autoglym Super Resin, no need for a change.
TR7V8 - surely your friend using the Meguiars on top of the *recently* applied AG Super Resin was not a fair comparison???
I've also often been tempted by Mer but if it's no better why bother.
Thanks for all the replies.

Marc. I really like the results of Autoglym Super Resin and then if I'm not too lazy I put on the Autoglym Sealant. That will last a lot longer (must be left to dry before being rubbed off).

The gloss is really easy to apply and remove. 10 minutes to apply, wait an hour and polish off with a clean cloth. You don't have to rub it in so it is no effort at all. Worth it for the year long water beading.
Ignore Autoexpress when they say it only lasts weeks. I think they must apply it to unpolished paintwork.
