95 1.6 Sloppy throttle / lack of acceleration - weehawken
Evening all,

My partner's car has recently lost a lot of acceleration from 3rd gear up, particularly when going up hills. This is the first issue since buying the car 6 years ago.

Having driven it today the throttle lacks tension / feels sloppy although the rev's look fine for the speeds, just a distinct lack of poke. Also the car now gets hot quickly, I'm assuming that this is linked.

I've checked the oil and if any connections are loose and everything looks fine. At this stage I'm assuming that it's the clutch but any help would be gratefully received.

has there been a rattle from underside? even just when ticking over/. May be worth getting the exhaust checked as the cat may be breaking up causing a partial blockage.
Woth getting someone to put there foot on the throttle with the engine switch off & make sure its actually getting full throttle on the throttle body in the engine bay.
