What effect if any would loose baffles in rear silencer on a car have to the performance of a car?

If they were just loose and rattling - not much.

If one had broken free and was pressed against a neigbour, blocking both plate's holes - quite a bit.

(1) How could you tell if one has broken free and was pressed against its neighbour?

(2) What amount of BHP would you loose if Baffles where just loose or broken free
