Failure to relicense - sierra3dr
Hi folks,
On the 24th February this year I bought a Ford Sierra and the tax was due to run out on the 30th of April this year. As you do,I got on with my life and never give it a second thought. Of course I did apply for a V5 as the previous owner could not find the original. I can't remember exactly what date it was when I applied for the V5. I have looked on the V5 to see of any indication of the date I applied, the only reference I see is along the 'Document Ref. No.' which is 01 04 08,whether that is a date,I don't know.
Anyway, the other day I received a letter from DVLA headed 'Failure to relicense vehicle'
Now,as I have already another Sierra off the road,I do get and have received a reminder and therefore keep up to date on such matters and have SORNed it. So,had I received a reminder from DVLA,I would have SORNed the recently purchased Sierra. I suspect that DVLA sent the previous owner the reminder whilst my V5 was being printed.
Anyone else experienced a similar incident?
thanks
Paul
