The choice of radiators are Nissen, Valeo, VW, will be keeping the car for about 6 years.
What would be the best option fro replacement bearing in mind cost will be a major consideration
BTW who manufactures the VW radiator
Thanks

Have you looked at getting the original one re-cored?
There is plenty of companys that will fit a new core, it "may" work out a little cheaper for you.

Nissens would get my vote.
My partner's Peugeot has had an intensive appetite for radiators - changed fortunately before any engine damage. The OE Ordonnez and first replacement Behr were unspeakable rubbish. Valeo equipment on the same vehicle (alternator, immobiliser aerial coil assembly) has also been deficient in terms of reliability.
The presently fitted Nissens radiator was no dearer than the others and distinguishes itself by being hot-dip galvanised. Of the various types I've tried, it looks the best made by far and is a perfect fit.
659.
