The electrical cables in the engine bay are in ridged flexible plastic conduits and these are taped with that old type of electrical tape at the joints.
I would like to seal these in some way, to avoid the ends unravelling, for example before any oil contamination. What with? I thought of brushing on a coat of marine grade varnish, but don`t want it to let go and unravel as it soaks in.

Never used liquid tape, but have used instant gasket. Same thing I suspect.
