Hi,
Sadly, quite like this 1980 weird looking Chris Humberstone design - the convertible not the estate version.
Does anyone know if it still exists or any other info on it?
Pictures of it here: www.pestalozzi.net/sb/rapport/rapport_gallery.html

I remember the brown convertible being featured in contemporary magazines - wasn't it Jaguar based ?

Yes it had an XJS V12 or straight six.
The folding hood was presented to a guy in Woking called Bruce Durrant as a sketch, but he made it work.
The estate was sold by Bonhams a few years ago for less than 10K and seemed to be featured in a few magazines over the years, but I have never seen a roadtest on the convertible. Would love to know if it still exists.
Where Bruce worked was at the corner of Maybury Road and Maybury Hill in Woking and as well as having the Rapport firm next door, at various times had Kat designs (Ford bodykits) and various other specialist firms. Bruce from memory converted Lancia Delta's and Renault 5 Turbo 1 and 2's into RHD and made up Mokes for some flash garage in Surrey. Place redeveloped a few years ago into flats/houses.
