rejection of motor car - topgear001
Has anybody ever rejected a car within the first 6 months? Just wondered if anybody has any stories to tell - good or bad.

yes, I did reject an Espace the Race 2.2dci a 51 or 52 I believe, after almost being killed whilst turning right across a dual carriageway. It was the 8th time it it suddenly lost all power, even the steeering went -and they'd had it back several times to investigate, all in the first 6 weeks !!, other times were less serious, apart from one Fri P.M going around a roundabout. Fortunately I had paid on finance and threatened to stop payments till it got sorted - which it did eventually
Unfortunately its replacement, was little better requiring a new engine at 4k, about 26 and another aronud 54k, I'm now upto 90k, so far so good

I rejected just recently a new XXXXXX XXXXXXX - was delivered to my home and it had been damaged (rear bumper scraped quite badly). The delivery guy said the company knew about it but insisted on the delivery going ahead anyway. I refused to sign for it and phoned up the leasing company to say why. Leasing company not very happy, but as I'd just been on an assertiveness training course, I put my newly acquired skills into practice.

Two weeks later I got a new car (checked the reg was different!)
