Motrio 10W-40 semi-synthetic oil - any good? - mfarrow
Hi

cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2002...1

Been looking at getting some. Certainly cheap, but is it any good?

It seems to meet the right API/ACEA specs looking at the blurred image text. I hear it's a Renault-approved brand, is this true?

It's between this stuff and GM's own (second cheapest), but this doesn't specify whether it's good for diesel engines.

BTW it's for different cars we have at home.

Thanks

A quick Google shows that the same 20ltr container is available from Nissan for £13.50.
[Must be prime stuff!]

It doesn`t seem to be actually labelled as `semi-synthetic`. If you scroll to the bottom of this link you will see there are allegedly `complex reasons for this`. Seemingly not willing to put a semi synthetic label on for Europe wide sales outside Germany. Or is there more to that?

Funny then how the UK, Calais hypermarkets Europe and beyond, are awash with `semi-synthetic` oils.
No chance of a MB spec then?

GM's own is a very good oil, if its A3/B3 its good for diesel engines too. ( older direct or indirect dervs that is)
