Got a problem with my Toyota Corolla 1.3 1993 model. Ignition lock is stiff and sometimes takes numerous attempts to turn the key. Has anyone any ideas as to how to get the shrouding off to get to the lock?

If my car had this problem the first thing I would try would be a squirt of WD40 or silicone spray lubricant into the keyhole.

Thanks, tried this but doesn't seem to make much difference. I was thinking it may be the key that may need replacing.

It is usually the lock and key are both worn.
Replacing key may give you a few months of use.
Had my 93 Corolla done in 2005 for £100 to replace lock & key at Toyota dealer.
If you have a haynes manual it could be done DIY for £30 - £40 for the parts?
