"Every car sold for a 100% conversion"
What does that mean in English?

It would be interesting to read the invitations to that PR event.
Instruction no. 1 - You will buy a vehicle at over-CAP price
Instruction no. 2 - You will smile and whistle at all times

My main dealer Merc buying friend laughed out load when I read him that auction report.
His dealership is so rammed with demo's that he can't even think of going to auctions to buy cars. In fact he has been told to buy NO cars until the glut of demo's is sorted. Which is great but they arrive by the truckload on a worryingly regular basis.
Did the BMW guys get a dealer bonus for towing the company line?

Yes. Just so they can boast in the press how they have 'excellent residuals'. Complete load of tosh.
|
They should have been at the auction I was at today where several BMW models with CAP prices in the 12-13k range were struggling to bid to 9k.
They'll all be back next week and probably bidding to 8.5k.....

Astonishingly Cheesy Press Release would be a more honest headline. Could there have been some 'incentive' for already overstocked dealers to turn up and buy?
A more interesting 'news' story would be the explanation for the coralled dealers' largesse.

Sounds exactly like the BS BMW drivers like to hear or talk ;)
|
What's the back story on this? Have BMW been on the ropes recently, are they trying to motivate the troops?
Love the BS though eg "The cars were....... digitally imaged by BCA" = a YTS lad/lass took pics of the cars on a £99 digital camera from Dixons, and his/her mate then cropped them on the PC.
|
Average of £24.5k per car . . .
I am guessing but aren't dealers only interested in cars sub 3 years old and aren't big BMWs lots of ££££££ so is the average what would be expected - or did they sell, but cheaply!

"Astonishingly Confident" equals
Smug
Arrogant
Naive .........
