PU, I think I may echo many on this forum when I say:

What are you on about?

Shurely that's obvious? He's talking rubbish ;)

His motorbike is quieter than his wheelie bin being moved.

Do you mean tickover or ride-by though?!

I guess the bin is empty too :-P

My Africa Twin sounded interesting with nothing but the header pipes on...!

Strangely enough I was looking at my wheelie bin only this morning wondering why the hell its got a decibel sticker on it!
Bikes are quieter than wheelie bins - Pugugly
Same here really - must be one of those days !

I think that the decibel "rating" of wheelie bins relates to how noisy they are when you drop the lid down rather than when they are actually on the move.
A fairer comparison with the bike would be the noise it makes when the side stand clunks up into position.

My bin doesn't have a decibel rating.

Nor does it have alloy wheels, but it does have an opening sunroof ....

Isn't there some new EU limit of a max permitted 85db? [That's why all the, 93db, nightingales have to be shot.]
Bikes are quieter than wheelie bins - MikeTorque
There are plenty of motor bikes issuing well over 93db, you ready to aim !

PU,

What tyres do you have on yours? My wheelie bin was originally quite noisy but after changing to Goodyear Eagles it is much better. If you go with the 245/50ZR16's the ride quality also improves dramatically.

PU, I thought you liked your Roomster - if you call it a rude name like that it might bite back. :)

No contest; I'd go for the wheelie bin every time! ;-)

I bet this is a bit louder - Turn your wheelie into a vacuum cleaner!

Should be motorised....

...a couple of 12v wheelchair motors or a PTO through a centrifugal clutch geared to the wheels should do it!

I have four wheelie bins already & Wednesday evening/Thursday mornings (bin day) is really noisy around here ;)

Brown- tins & glass.
Green - garden waste (but no food stuff) and cardboard.
Blue - paper.
Grey - general household.

My council is talking of giving us another (bright yellow...) for plastic related!

I won't have a garden soon!!!!

You could put the plastic wheelie bins in the new bright yellow one ;>)

I've only got three wheelie bins, however as my house has a shared drive, there's six bins, and two glass collection boxes, at the bottom of the drive.

Your Wheelie Bin is probably fitted with a pattern part exhaust system. Get a genuine exhaust system fitted before you annoy the neighbours.

My neighbours know better than to moan. Thinking about this today - all the 1200s I've heard riding past whilst helmetless are as quiet (if rather raspy) as a 250cc a few years ago.

My bin is 99db! What's the 0-60 like on your bin?
