Panda 4x4 is nearly out of warranty and needs new rear discs and pads.
On the internet, inc. VAT and p+p, original Fiat parts £64, pattern parts from EBC, who I believe to be reputable, £44.
Which would you go for ?

If you fit yourself then ask what is the downside of saving £20.00
the only issues being
the FIAT warrenty -nealry expired
which product has the better guarantee probably 12months or x k miles
I would pour the saving into the tank & enjoy the Panda

Should imagine the pattern parts from ebc will be fine.
Get my brake discs and pads from GSF of Euro, and they are usually texstar who are OE anyway, but half the price, without the cute 3 pointed star on the box.
Only one thing would concern me, as ebc seem to be mainly a fast road and race brake supplier, would the pads be normal temp range as in your originals.
Fitted ferodo front pads years ago to a mk2 golf, very good quality, but they were much better than the originals and caused the front brakes to lock prematurely, had to get the ferodo rear shoes as well to reinstate the correct balance, after that they were infinately better than originals.
Dare say this won't be the case, but maybe worth checking.

EBC do a range of standard pads & discs as well as go faster (or slower!) stuff. Most of their stuff is Type 90 which is replacement on a one for one basis same as OEM.
Yup I'd try GSF or Euro Car part & the local motor factors.

My Skoda Superb required new rear pads whilst under warranty. Although it was supplied by a Skoda dealer they "neglected" to check these - of course, they're not included in the warranty.
I will not be held to ransome by VAG of all people, so I fitted a set of Textar pads from GSF - no problems whatever, the stamped lettering and numbers on the backplates were identical to those on the OE pads. What the Textar replacement pads did lack was the white lettering with the VW Audi symbol - just white ink.
At the time of fitting, I thought that just in case I had a warranty claim, I'd obliterate the "Textar" white lettering with a black felt tipped pen on the outer pads - this is the lettering you can see through the wheel slots.
I did have a warranty claim subsequently (seatbelt) and they didn't notice - the white lettering is not visible on old pads anyway.
Don't let these people rob you.

Just examined the discs and the dealer has misled me on the state of the discs. Therefore I just need pads which I will obtain either at a local motor factor or via the web as theyr'e much cheaper. Just trying to find out if the pattern pad kits contain the retaining clips because they are so easy to bend when you change the pads.

Not wanting to name and shame so I type carefully?
But the lesser spoken about pads mentioned by yourself would never be fitted by me to any of my customers cars; even if I lost the job by being more expensive!
Price isnt everything on brake parts especially.
I would happily use the other ones mentioned, or mintex, ferodo, or QH if others not available.

I had a poor experience with EBC pads on a Punto in terms of both fit and braking performance. Took them off and put on ATE pads and discs (about £45 all in from Eurocarparts). They perform well. The Punto calipers have ATE stamped on them so
ATE pads may well be OE.
