'Car Talk' website-where's it gone? - P.Mason {P}
The 'Car Talk' website, hosted by Tom and Ray Magliozzi* seems to have disappeared. Have anyone else noticed this, and managed to access it somehow?
* I've been following it for some years, ever since someone on HJ's site recommended it.

If it is a proboards hosted site it will be back in a few days. They had a huge fire that put all the servers out of action on friday. Hope this helps!

This is a new one as far as I'm concerned, but if it's a Yahoo website then it's working OK for me.

Stuartli,
Are you able to access the 'Car Talk' site? - All I get for the home page is a blank red screen.

This is the page (there seem to be several similar websites) I've found:

tinyurl.com/64zonp

There's also this one (CarTalk rather than CarsTalk):

tinyurl.com/5q62l8

Both are forum pages.

For me, with identical firewall security settings, it comes up as a blank red screen for a long time before it renders fully on IE7, whereas it renders quickly in Firefox.

I've just tried jblf's link with Firefox and it comes up in nano seconds.

However, I also get the blank red screen initially in IE7 - I suspect it's to do with the Privacy settings (click on Page at the top of the browser window).

As I use Firefox for 98 per cent of the time I'm not too worried about IE7..:-)

Stuartli,
Many thanks for your input- I've just tried FireFox, and as you said, it comes up immediately. I normally use IE6, which has been very slow recently.
