A colleague has just ordered his new SEAT Leon in White. He has been offered GARDEX?? which is like a paint work protection for £200 and is guarnteed for 8 years. Is this worth it?

There have been a few posts on this paint treatment stuff - also try searching for Supaguard.

IMHO I wouldn't care if it was a Leon or a Lambo, I wouldn't bother and prefer to spend the £200 buying some proper car detailing gear.

Spend the £200 on four or five high quality valets from Stu. It'll look far better, and the owner will be far happier.

Thanks for all replies, I will suggest GAP or valets. I think the pertol would come to 200 pound if 4 or 5 trips from Sheffield - Northants, but I know you was only joking. There is loads of valet companies round here, I think that is best bet.

We have got the general jist that it is a scam and not worth 200 pound

Thanks again.

Read the samll print on the guarantee usually only when you use their washing fluids and very few people will keep a car for eight years.

It won't add to it's resale value one bit and there is a good chance that it damage the car as the application is often rushed because after all "you want the car out the door"

The product cost by the way is about £35 plus vat and soon as you wash it with any reputable brand of washing fluid it will last about 3-4 months based on a weeky wash cycle. The reason being that the washing fluids break down the coating.
