1998 1.9 Immobiliser bypass - rossinatrench
I have a 306 d turbo and unfortunately the engine went recently. I have found a new engine, a 1998 1905cc turbo diesel indirect injection - the same as before - but need to bypass the immobiliser before i go and put it in. It has a mechanical lucas pump with a solenoid immobiliser unit. If anyone could help that would be great.

Cheers

No method to PM (private message) you on here, and it goes without saying that this sort of info shouldn't be posted publically. If you can provide and email address, then should anyone know how to bypass the immobiliser, they can contact you privately. DD.

Do a google search. It's pretty easy (the search AND the bypass!!).

I have looked on Google, but nothing really comes up which makes much sense.

Excuse my ignorance but how does an imobiliser work? This could explain why I cant start my 306 new engine without bypassing the stop solenoid.
I see an anti theft reference in the circuit diagram of a 306.

Assuming you have the key and turn the ignition what stops a 306 D from starting?
If I knew answer to that I could start and stop mine the correct way with the stop solenoid in circuit.

the ecu reads the key if the key is correct then it will tell the stop solenoid to work allowing fuel in, this is a basic description i can go into more detail if required !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nah! Ta! Found my Aussie model has no immobiliser and to get volts to the Stop Solenoid all I had to do was change over the wiring and the blue socket from the XUD114 injector pump and connect it up on the XUD110.

Do you know what the cam operated switch does on top of the fuel pump on the throttle arm?
What does it switch on? or off? Thanks.
