Assume you're going to the Stadium for the footie playoffs. Official advice on parking is here www.wembleystadium.com/gettingtowembley/parking/
A job for public transport. Driving to a rail gateway may save time/trouble if there are Sunday engineering works.

Personally I would drive to High Wycombe. Plenty of parking (and unregulated not too far away on a sunday) and it's only 20 minutes at most on the train to wembley stadium.
Easy get away as most people will head back into town after the match, and wycombe great for motorways etc

I always park in Uxbridge and take the Metropolitan line, about 35 minutes.

Sorry, one other question - how many travelling and are any of them children?
If SWT offers groupsave or similar fares parties of 3/4 can get some very good deals.

take the train to Waterloo then to Paddington -nice pubs, not overcrowded and direct link to Wembley by train -don't drive - unless you have 5 or more on board -have you seen the prices of petrol these days !!!!

No congestion charge on Sundays.
No congestion charge in Wembley either or anywhere near it. If driving from Dorset you would turn up the North Circular to Wembley anyway, round M25 to M40, turn right towards London, turn left at Hanger Lane... But I agree that driving there at any time, especially on a big match day, won't be fun. Consider parking somewhere else on the appropriate tube line and going the last mile by tube.
